Young Changemakers in Justice Showcase
About Young Changemakers in Justice
Ashoka’s Law For All Initiative is committed to advancing the potential of young changemakers to create justice solutions for themselves, their communities and their society. It believes that in order to do that we need to build a movement that advances the idea that young changemakers can create justice solutions, develop a community of such young changemakers, and build an ecosystem that enables them to realize their potential.
In the first session of its “Young Changemakers in Justice” showcase, Ashoka’s Law for All Initiative invited the programme leaders of our partner organisations to learn more about their journey. Joined in the session are Tammanna Aurora and Sachin Malhan from Agami, Ritesh Gohiya and Kanika Sinha from ComMutiny, Roshan D’Souza, Pooja Pawar, and Vimalprabhu P from Reap Benefit, Anshul Tewari, Ritika Bhatia, and Kirrat Sachdeva from Youth ki Awaaz.
Partner Organizations and their Work
Justice Jagrik Initiative – ComMutiny
Our objective in Young Changemakers in Justice is to train a cohort of youths who are Justice Jagriks from within the communities. It is set to create a ripple effect and undertake 10 social action programs that will identify and address gaps, and enable positive reinforcement to the social justice system by making them more accessible and friendly. Additionally, it will help promote a shift in norms and narratives within the communities of Harda, particularly young people, from where these change-makers belong to.
Solve Ninja Leadership Accelerator – Reap Benefit
Young changemakers are often at the cusp of taking their problem statements/solutions a notch higher, but lack certain guidance. We observed a need emerge for a program which helps these young changemakers who are very early on in their journey, helps them shape their idea and prepares them for a longer game. Our objective in Young Changemakers in Justice is to provide a flagship six-month accelerator program to nurture young individuals to enable civic and environmental impact in local communities through local data and local solutions.
Justicemakers Writer Training Program – Youth ki Awaaz
Justicemaking uses creativity and collaborative action to create solutions that have justice outcomes for a community. Our objective in Young Changemakers in Justice is to identify, train, and support a cohort of justicemakers across pressing issues and develop their skills around storytelling, narrative building and campaigning to engender systemic change using digital media.
